How can a small retail business manage inventory across online and offline channels?
It really depends on how you do fulfillment for the online store. If you are filling online orders out of the same stock that you sell through the storefront, you are going to have to integrate the inventory management for both channels.
Depending on the size of your operation, Quickbooks at the lower end or Dynamics at the higher end are probably the better accounting applications at inventory management of multiple channels.
If you do fulfillment out of separate stock, then theoretically you could keep two sets of inventory records and just combine them for reporting purposes.
